Prayer of the Heart

The process of transformation is uplifted and sustained by a life of prayer. Without prayer, transformation becomes temporary change. It fades in the recesses of your imagination and you are left wondering if what happened to you during that period was just a phase you went through. But when transformation is sustained by ongoing intimacy with the Holy Spirit, ongoing change becomes a tidal wave of transformation in your heart. One deep change leads to another, which leads to another, which leads to another. When this becomes your norm people see the ongoing redemption of your identity and will often comment on it.

The goal of transformation is not just that you would find a greater place of wholeness, but rather it is that your heart would look like the Father’s heart. Prayer is the path to intimacy with the Godhead, and you cannot look like what you fail to see. Thus, prayer as intimate devotion is essential to the spiritual life. It essential to you discovering the purpose for which you were created, and prayer is never more than a thought away.
